Bio

I'm  Ellie Gibbons, a photographer and photofilm maker based in Birmingham, UK. My passion for photography began 7 years ago when I began a degree course at the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design,  happily graduating with a 1st Class Honours in Media Photography and the Ian Evans Photographic Award  - going on stage to pick up my graduation certificate is still one of the proudest moments of my life and it made me realise that I can do anything if I put my mind to it.

In my work, I am interested in stories about the people and places that inspire my thinking and I like, where possible, to see the colour, quirks, humour, and beauty in life. My photofilms have become an extension of my documentary photography work combining photography, audio and storytelling - my aim being to always get to the heart of any subject matter I am exploring.
